Hi everyone, my name is William Vanzela and I will share something monthly with you all about goalkeeper, indoor soccer, training and much more!!!! But before that I like to introduce myself on a few words. I was born in Brazil and I have dual citizenship (Brazilian and Italian). I start to play Futsal when I was 4 years old and 11 on outdoor. I played outdoor in Brazil till I turn 19 in a big Brazilian club (Paraná Clube), than I decide to move to Italy and play futsal again. I play for 6 years in a couple different clubs.
In 2012 I came to US to play Indoor soccer for the Baltimore Blast,and I'm here since! Just a quick bio on my indoor soccer career Position: Goalkeeper Date of Birth: 03/01/1985 Height: 6' Weight: 178 lbs Hometown: Cascavel, Brazil Biography: 2015-2016: seasons still going on GAA 2.65 2014-2015 seasons highlight: Vanzela was named AGAIN goalie of the year, with incredible 2.69! Vanzela also was ALL LEAGUE FIRST TEAM 2013-2014 Season Highlights: William Vanzela returns to the Blast for his third year after an excellent season last year.
Vanzela was named League Goalkeeper of the Year as he led the league in save percentage at .833 and had a points against average of 5.57 points per game. Career Highlights: Vanzela was named the 2012-2013 Most Valuable Player of the play-offs and All-Rookie team selection in his first year with the Blast. 2012-13 Season Highlights: Vanzela made his debut with the Baltimore Blast against the Syracuse Silver Knights and recorded 15 saves (11/10/12)… He was the starting goalie for 25 of 30 games… Vanzela was named the player of the month in February…Named to the MISL All-Rookie Team after being ranked second in the league in points against average and awarded Most Valuable Player in the 2012-13 Play-Offs. Personal: Vanzela, who holds dual Brazilian and Italian citizenship, was a member of Italy’s World Cup-winning 7 v 7 team in 2011. William was named the Goalie Gloves Award winner in the 2011 World Cup.
